Meet the Artists
*** Jack Raymond ***
Hailing from the alpine village of Harrietville in Victoria and now based on the Sunshine Coast, Jack Raymond weaves a rich tapestry of folk, blues, and mountain-born storytelling. His smoky, raspy voice—described as “the crackling of a camp-fire, boots on a gravel road, whisky meets ice”—is both raw and inviting.
With his debut album The Long Story Short (2024), Jack crafted deeply personal, soul-stirring narratives across roots, folk, and blues textures. His single “Wide Eyes” blends upbeat folk-Americana energy with layered, emotive guitar work and accessible storytelling, evoking the feeling of a crisp sunrise and an intimate connection.
A celebrated live performer, Jack’s “mountain roots” sound has earned him spots at major festivals including Kiama Blues Festival, The Gympie Muster, and Agnes Blues n Roots. Known for his engaging, soulful shows, Jack leaves audiences feeling grounded, inspired, and a little more connected to the heart of Australian music.
*** Ben Smith ***
Ben Smith is a Melbourne songwriter who’s been making music and telling stories for as long as he can remember. He kicked things off back in 1997 with his first album in London, and since then his songs have taken him all over—festivals like St Kilda, Folk Rhythm & Life, Apollo Bay and Cool Summer Fest, as well as plenty of smaller rooms where the magic really happens.
Ben’s music sits somewhere between folk, blues and acoustic pop, but it’s his stories that really draw people in. They come from years of travel, late-night conversations, and the ups and downs that make us who we are.
On stage, he’s relaxed and genuine, the kind of performer who makes you feel like you’re sitting around a kitchen table, not in a crowd. Every show is a mix of heart, humour, and songs that stay with you long after the last chord rings out.
*** Ricki Wood ***
Ricki Wood is a Melbourne-based songwriter whose music is as real and unpolished as the stories behind it. Drawing on years of life on the road, he writes and sings with a raw honesty that connects straight to the heart. His songs blend country, folk and acoustic roots, but more than any label, they’re about moments—quiet ones, hard ones, and the kind you carry with you.
Ricki’s shows aren’t about putting on a big act. They’re about sharing a space, a story, and a few laughs along the way. You might find him in a town hall, a small festival, or a backroom bar, always with the same down-to-earth presence.
Whether he’s picking through a gentle ballad or leaning into a foot-tapping groove, Ricki has a way of making you feel part of the song. It’s music for people who want something real, and a night that stays with them.
