We are thrilled to present the Side-by-Side Honor Band Concert, an opportunity for high school musicians to perform alongside the YSU Wind Ensemble on November 2, 2025! This distinguished experience offers talented students the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the Dana School of Music’s student musicians and world-class faculty artists. High school musicians will begin their day at Youngstown State University inside Bliss Hall, where they will sharpen their skills and attend masterclasses with our Dana School of Music faculty. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with our current students and prepare for an unforgettable concert!
The day will conclude with a concert at 7:00 p.m. inside Stambaugh Auditorium, one of the nation’s best concert halls! The program includes a diverse and captivating selection of pieces, featuring Arabesque by Samuel Hazo, Horkstow Grange from Lincolnshire Posy by Percy Grainger, and the iconic Imperial March (Darth Vader’s Theme) by John Williams—conducted by the winner of our student conducting competition.
