Join us for our Sickle Cell Symposium to learn more about the latest treatments and therapies available. This family friendly event includes breakout sessions and opportunities to learn from others in the community who are experiencing many of the same everyday challenges. Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided.
Schedule:
- Welcome: 15-30 minutes
- Session 1: 35-45 minutes
Topics: Hydroxyurea, Endari, Voxelotor, Criziluzimab (Disease modifying therapies) - Session 2: 45-60 minutes
Topic: Gene therapy and transplant (Guest Speaker: Dr. C or Dr. Alicea) - Session 3: 35-45 minutes
Topic: Blood transfusion (Guest Speaker: Dr. Josephson) - Lunch with Invited Lecturer: 45-60 minutes
Guest Lecturer: Dr. Reynoso - Panel Discussion:
1:30-2:30 pm (Transition from pediatric to adult care)
Panelists:
- Parent of previously graduated teen
- 2 Teens (13-15 yrs), (19-20 yrs)
