As temperatures drop and the days getting shorter, it can only mean one thing - it's cinema season! On 13th November we return to our good friends Bio Zita to watch the highly anticipated film ‘Green Border.'As always at our events, the film will be screened with English subtitles, and we will gather after the film to meet each other and connect (this will be in Zita's own bar)
About the film:
In the impenetrable forests between Belarus and Poland, refugees are trapped in the "green border", cynically created by the Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko. Refugees from the Middle East and Africa are lured to the border by propaganda that promises easy passage to the EU.
In this year's most urgent film, Agnieszka Holland points the camera at a Syrian refugee family that wants to go to Sweden, a human rights activist and a doubting border guard, whose lives are intertwined in a cinematic fresco of contemporary Europe.
The film was the winner of the Jury Prize at the Venice film festival.
