Our Speaker

In a career spanning over 25 years Sian has extensive business experience as a Senior Leader in both Energy and IT industries, having held several leadership roles in both blue chip and start-up Companies.


The domain knowledge and global focus gained in the Energy industry; coupled with the pace of evolving digital strategies and entrepreneurship encouraged in the IT industry, have contributed to a proven track record in developing new and profitable business opportunities. She is UK Managing Director of Aker Offshore Wind and also supports the broader Aker Horizon companies in the UK, a global provider of sustainable solutions across the broad Energy sector.


Sian is Vice Co-Chair on the Board of Oil and Gas UK (OGUK) and the industry Supply Chain Champion supporting delivery of the North Sea Transition Deal, sits on the board of the Aberdeen Energy Transition Zone (ETZ) and is a member of the steerco for the Deepwind Cluster.

The Company

Aker Offshore Wind was formally established in the summer of 2020, following an incubation period of a few years at Aker Solutions. A series of agreements between Aker Solutions and Aker Offshore Wind ensures continued access to global offshore expertise. Aker Horizons’s ownership has provided the company with another set of critical skills and support in the start-up phase. The network in the wider Aker group of companies, from Cognite and Aize to AkerBP, is a benefit to Aker Offshore Wind and supports its sustainable growth

The event will be held at the Royal Scots Club, 29 Abercromby Place, Edinburgh, EH3 6QE

Members and guests are invited to arrive from 17:30 for coffee/tea and biscuits (pay-bar available).

Our meeting commences at 18:00. An opportunity for informal discussion between members and guests will follow the presentation in the Cocktail Bar until commencement of the Discussion Dinner (under Chatham House Rules) at about 20:00.


Timings:-

5.30PM - Meet for Tea, Coffee, Drinks

6.00PM - Speaker Presentation followed by Q&A (also available as webinar)

7.30PM - Drinks Reception

8.00PM - Dinner followed by further Q&A under Chatham House rules

10.30PM - Event finishes
