「Si Tanggang」的傳說在馬來群島印尼、馬來西亞、汶萊及新加坡一帶以不同的名字流傳著。1961年，邵氏電影旗下「馬來電影製片廠」（Malay Film Production）製作發行改編自同名傳說的馬來語電影《Si Tanggang》。傳說敘述兒子離開母親和家鄉到外打拼賺取財富，離家前向母親承諾必會回去陪伴她。然而當兒子的財富、身份及地位都大幅提升和改變，繼而娶了一位公主後，兒子彷彿遺忘了當初的諾言。某次途經家鄉，他拒絕承認自己的母親，母親傷心憤怒的情緒交雜下，詛咒兒子和其隨行人員、船隻等都變成石頭，最終釀成悲劇。電影資訊網站IMDB如此敘述《Si Tanggang》這部電影，「這個傳說是所有（馬來）小孩的夢魘」。「Si Tanggang之夜」將藉由傳說與電影《Si Tanggang》，展開本展和展覽作品引用、重返、重演、復活等面向的討論。

印卡，駐台北的獨立研究者、詩人和評論人。自2009年以來，他已出版多部詩集和散文集。2018年，他被國際藝術評論家協會（AICA）評為有潛力的青年評論家。他曾在多家知名機構駐留，包括2017年的Can Serrat，2021年的Grey Projects和Cove Park，以及2022年的布拉格聯合國教科文組織文學之城。此外，他還在2018年和2020年，歐洲詩會年會員擔任澳門城市藝穗節的駐地劇評。2024獲選義大利歐洲詩會會員。過去他曾獲得台灣國家藝術基金會的資助，進行數位藝術、人類世和跨領域藝術的深入研究。
沈柏逸，喜歡不可見、偶然、弔詭、矛盾、不合時宜的事物勝過理所當然。關注環境中的縫隙——當代藝術、影像美學、情感技術、氛圍體驗、審美注意力與另類知識生產。現就讀於國立臺北藝術大學美術學系博士班，文章散見於《典藏ARTouch》、《CLABO實驗波》、《Critical Asia Archives》與《報導者》，並經營平台《Mi M1 MeW MəW》。

The Night of Si Tanggang

The story of "Si Tanggang" is a popular folklore carrying different names among the Malay Archipelago. In 1961, Shaw Brothers' “Malay Film Production” produced and released the Malay-language film "Si Tanggang", an adaptation of the folklore. The folklore tells of a son who left his mother and hometown to gain prosperity, and before leaving home he promised his mother that he would return to be with her. However, when the son's wealth, status and position were greatly improved and changed, and he subsequently married a princess, he seemed to have forgotten his original promise. Once when he passed by his hometown, he refused to acknowledge his mother. His mother was so sad and angry that she cursed her son, his entourage, ships, etc. to turn into rocks, which eventually led to tragedy. Online film database IMDB describes the movie "Si Tanggang" as follows: "This legend that haunts all (Malay) children." "The Night of Si Tanggang" will develop discussion on the folklore and film adaptation, as well as topics such as citation, return, re-enactment and revival aspects played out from this exhibition and the exhibited works.

Enkaryon Ang
Enkaryon Ang is an esteemed independent researcher, poet, and art critic based in Taipei, Taiwan. Since 2009, he has published several collections of poetry and essays. In 2018, he was honored as a promising young critic by the International Association of Art Critics (AICA). He has held residencies at prestigious institutions such as Can Serrat in 2017, Grey Projects and Cove Park in 2021, and Prague UNESCO City of Literature in 2022. Additionally, he served as a resident theater critic for the Macau City Fringe Festival in both 2018 and 2020. In 2024, he was selected as a fellow of Poesiæuropa. In the past, he received grants from Taiwan's National Art Foundation to conduct extensive research on digital art, the Anthropocene, and interdisciplinary art.
Shen Bo Yi
Shen Bo Yi explores the intervals in the world—contemporary art, visual aesthetics, affective technology, atmospheric experience, aesthetic attention, and alternative knowledge production. Currently a doctoral student in the Department of Fine Arts at Taipei National University of the Arts, his research engages with the unseen, the accidental, the paradoxical, the contradictory, and the untimely rather than the expected.
