Shubalananda Saraswati is an American sadhu who has been devoutly traveling since 1995 to share his powerful blues rooted kirtan - an ancient call & response spiritual practice from India. His voice of deep bhava & his masterful musical skills allow Shubal to humbly offer his kirtan as a loving gift to his Guru, to his highest self & to the community around him. When Shubal sings, his Guru's Shakti fills everyone in the room with a tangibly nourishing soulful energy. His true love, deep wisdom, & the grace of his Guru create an ecstatic transcendent healing vibration accessing the grounded stillness of enlightened consciousness.
.
Kirtan is the joyous call-and-response practice of making music and chanting mantra together, letting sound and community be our medicine. One of the foundational practices on the path of Bhakti, chanting is a grounding, inspiring and effective awareness practice. When we chant together we naturally feel better. more connected with each other, and more at peace with ourselves and the universe.
.
Satsang is when we gather together as truth seekers in community cultivating a remembrance of devotional spirit as we all navigate our paths through this crazy beautiful world. Sometimes Satsang involves singing, story telling or readings from inspiring devotional texts, and sometimes it's just diving deep into silence or conversations that explore and enliven our connection with Life and all of its multidimensional radiances.
.
