Talks on 17th November at 6 pm after the set up and 10th December at 12 noon on the take down.
A talk on basic information about the Shroud of Turin and then look in more detail at the injuries which are visible, comparing them to the scriptural account of the Passion of Christ. The second half of the talk will be on image formation - what creates the image? This will include some of the science surrounding the cloth, including the radiocarbon dating. If there is time I will look at the history of the Shroud, including information on iconography - is the Shroud the original source for ancient art depicting Jesus? Question and answer session at the end.
