Deep in a distant swamp lives Shrek, a grumpy but lovable ogre whose peaceful life is disrupted when a group of banished fairytale creatures arrives on his land. To regain his solitude, Shrek makes a deal with the scheming Lord Farquaad: rescue Princess Fiona, and his swamp will be restored. Joined by a wisecracking Donkey, Shrek discovers friendship and a few surprises along the way.
This production features a talented cast of sixty local students in grades 3–6 bringing the story to life through music, humor, and high-energy! The show is directed by Tori Schultz, with assistance from Young Adult Leaders Caedyn Dean, Calden Berg, Noah Kienbaum and Taylor Sypher. Costuming is led by Karen Salienko and Karissa Naas. Kathy Kolton will manage Props for the show. Our Children's Onionette Choir, directed by Odessa Turnquist, will delight audiences with their special pre-show performances, setting the stage for the magic of Shrek KIDS.
