Heart of America Kennel Club (HoAKC) will begin hosting Weekly Drop In – Conformation “show and go” type classes. Intended for American Kennel Club (AKC) purebred dogs that will be competing in conformation events. Fully matted, heated and air conditioned!
Who can attend?
Open to members and non-members of HoAKC.
Puppies (at least 3 months old) to adults are welcome!
New handlers and Experienced handlers!
What do I need to know and bring?
All dogs must be properly vaccinated Rabies/Bordetella/DHPP (please bring copies).
Please be sure dogs are clean.
Bring your show collar and lead – our volunteers can assist in identifying what your dog might need- after the first class and proper usage of the equipment.
Bring your questions and your enthusiasm!
Please bring crates for dogs that will be waiting their turns or for those that just need to work on patience.
Do not bring chairs of any sort- the site does have chairs available.
Please be sure your pet is walked prior to building entrance. Any indoor accidents must be cleaned promptly. Please pick up after your animals outside.
Aggressive animals will not be allowed and will be asked to not return.
When and Where?
Classes will be held at The Dogs’ Spot- North Kansas City, MO.
Class start January 11 – February 15, 2026
Our training space will be available 11:30-1:00.
Sundays- Any updates/changes/cancellations will be put on Facebook as soon as possible.
Classes will start at 11:40.
Class is $10 per handler - you can bring several dogs if desired (Cash and Venmo).
Remember- we are all volunteers and AKC competitions are a family sport. All ages, abilities, and experience are welcome! Abiding by the AKC Code of Sportsmanship and Civility is required- even in training.
