In Singapore, the majority of Indians are immigrant workers. Hence, being an Indian, I have always been curious to learn more about the nature of the lives an immigrant worker leads. Are they very different from me and you? Or are they who they are because of the circumstances they are in? Raj and Priya, dreaming of a better life, suffer a humiliating experience on their anniversary at the beach, caught up in a police raid. Despite their attempts to bribe their way out, they end up at the police station, filled with shame and disappointment. Returning home, the family shares a heavy, silent dinner.
