About the event
Health and Safety Representatives (HSRs) play a crucial role in workplace safety. They’re the bridge between frontline workers and decision-makers – raising concerns, influencing change, and helping to create safer workplaces. But to do this effectively, they need the right knowledge, skills and confidence.
Our ShopCare HSR Development Day is designed to give your HSRs the practical skills they need to fulfil their role to its potential. This is a day focused on more than compliance – it’s about building capability and confidence so they can engage their teams and help shape better health, safety and wellbeing outcomes in your business.

The day is built around the NZISM HSR Knowledge Wheel, a competency framework that covers the key skills every HSR needs. Attendees will learn from leading experts in workplace health and safety, with a mix of practical sessions, discussions, and real-world insights.

Arrival Instructions
When you arrive, please make your way to the main Library entrance at the front of Te Manawa, facing the outdoor courtyard/plaza area. The entrance is near the yellow structural beams and the outdoor seating area.
Please look out for the ShopCare banner at the front of the Library entrance doors this will help guide you to the correct entry point.
Doors will open from 8:30 am.
Parking and transport
The most reliable option is paid parking at the Wilson Parking 1-5 Fernhill Dr facility. Casual parking there starts at $5.00. Street parking in surrounding areas, such as Lazurite Drive, may offer free options, but is often limited.
