Founded by American Express in 2010, this day is celebrated each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving in the U.S. Since it started in 2010, consumers have reported spending an estimated $200 billion at small businesses on the day.Shop Small is a nationwide movement to celebrate small businesses on Small Business Saturday and every day and to help communities thrive and stay vibrant.

According to the American Express 2022 Small Business Economic Impact Study, with every dollar spent at a small business in the US, 68 cents stays in the local community.
