Join us for a candid conversation with working photographers about genre, growth, and getting your work out into the world. The discussion will focus on practice, building a body of work, and what happens after the photo is taken. Shoot Your Shot will take place on Thursday, February 5, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at MSU Texas. The event is free to attend, however seating is limited.
About the Panelists:
Rob Loud is a New York–born photographer now based in the DFW area. He has worked with artists such as The Killers and Journey and created campaigns for Tag Heuer, Kind Snacks, and Merck Pharmaceuticals. His career spans more than 40 countries and includes events such as New York Fashion Week, the Super Bowl, and the US Open. Today, Rob focuses on creating clear, honest visuals for corporate brands.
Leah Gose is a visual artist and photographer and serves as Dean of the Lamar D. Fain College of Fine Arts at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls. She holds a B.A. in Photography from the University of Colorado Boulder and an M.F.A. from Texas Woman’s University. Her work explores perception, memory, and personal history using analogue, alternative, and digital processes.
Dylan Jimenez is a journalist and photographer who grew up in Sweetwater. He earned his degree in Communications from Angelo State University and began his career at KMID in Odessa. He now works as a full-time MMJ and reporter at KFDX. Dylan volunteers monthly at the Wichita Falls Art Association Gallery and shows his photography there.
Torin Halsey is the former chief photographer for the Times Record News with more than 30 years of professional experience. He studied at Texas State Technical Institute and has exhibited at venues such as the Kemp Center for the Arts and the Breckenridge Fine Art Center, earning multiple regional awards.
