Acclaimed turntablist, producer and composer Shiva Feshareki joins forces with radical guitarist Sean Shibe for a performance of her Seismic Wave Orchestra diffused through d&b Soundscape.?Please note: The performance will begin at 8pm.

She will also create live turntable manisfestations of her latest ambitious work, created for herself and Ensemble Modern OPUS INFINITY while special guest Sean Shibe gives spatialised performances of Reich’s Electric Counterpoint and Julius Eastman’s Bhudda.
Shiva Feshareki (1987) is a British-Iranian composer, artist and turntablist, described as “the most cutting-edge expression of turntablism” and as “one of the most astonishing acts of musical alchemy of the last decade” (BBC Radio 3’s Tom Service). Over the last decade, she has been a pioneer at the leading edge of both contemporary classical and electronic music scenes.
She holds a Doctorate of Music in composition from the Royal College of Music (2017), and is winner of the BBC Young Composer’s Award (2004), The Royal Philharmonic Society Composition Prize (2009) and the Ivor Novello Award for Innovation (2017). Shiva is currently a Visiting Fellow at Oxford University with the Electronic Music Practice Research group (EMPRes) and funded by The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH), researching and presenting state-of-the-art spatial and ambisonic electronic composition.

Sean Shibe is one of the most versatile guitarists performing today, Sean Shibe’s innovative approach to his instrument has enhanced his reputation for having “one of the most discriminating ears in the business” (Gramophone). He was the first guitarist ever to be selected for BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Artists scheme, to be awarded a Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship and, in 2018, to receive the Royal Philharmonic Society Award for Young Artists. Accolades for his recordings include two Gramophone Awards and an Opus Klassik. He is also the 2022 recipient of the Leonard Bernstein Award.
His most recent release is a second album for Pentatone titled Lost & Found, recorded on electric guitar and featuring repertoire by Hildegard von Bingen, Olivier Messiaen, Moondog, Julius Eastman, Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Meredith Monk, Shiva Feshareki, Oliver Leith and Daniel Kidane. His Pentatone debut album Camino (2021) featured an introspective programme of French and Iberian music The Times describing it as “one of the most compelling and touching recitals for the instrument I can recall”. The recent releases on Pentatone follow a string of successes on Delphian Records receiving many prestigious awards, including a Gramophone Award in the Instrumental Category.
