THEY TRIED TO CLONE MOZART, it went horribly wrong, and now we’re stuck with the consequences. Dressed in a cheap wig, Shitty Mozart (Aaron Nemo, a writer at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert) performs a dazzlingly chaotic one-man multimedia concerto about an artist struggling to live up to his own expectations.
Terrified that the audience will realize he lacks the musical genius of his predecessor, Shitty Mozart shows off his own talents—playing new instruments he’s invented, performing duets with cartoons he drew, and even conducting a brief laser light show—in a futile attempt to escape Wolfgang’s shadow and make a name for himself.
Aaron Nemo is comedian/musician/animator based out of New York City. He is a writer at The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, where his work has been awarded a Webby and Peabody, and a former contributing writer at Late Show with David Letterman. He has also collaborated with and written songs for Adam Sandler. Aaron’s one-man show “Shitty Mozart’ was a selection at The Flyover Comedy Festival in St. Louis, MO and Projectorfest at Caveat in New York City. The show is slated for Edinburgh Fringe 2024 and will be performed at the Gilded Balloon Patter House for 27 straight nights.
