Join us on Saturday, May 25th at 10:00am for our newest Shipwreck Series Release -The El Salvador.
The El Salvador, was a Spanish Galleon that ran aground near Beaufort Inlet during a hurricane in August of 1750. The Galleon was carrying 4 chests of gold and 15 chests of silver. On August 25th the El Salvador and six other vessels were caught in a hurricane Northeast of present-day Cape Canaveral, Florida. The storm forced the ships North along the Gulf Stream where the El Salvador was driven ashore along the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The salvage rights are still being disputed.
In honor of the El Salvador, this Shipwreck Release batch was made blend of Molasses and Panela Sugar and then aged for two years in once used bourbon barrels and for an additional year finished in Madeira Barrels.
We will also be hosting a Food Drive in partnership with the Town of Manteo and the Manteo Police Department during our Shipwreck Release. Bring a food item and receive $1 off a cocktail in our Wheel House Lounge. All food donations will be distributed among the food banks along the Outer Banks.
Doors open at 10am and Joyner’s cocktails will be flowing along in our Wheelhouse Lounge.
