John Schmitt is a retired Army lieutenant colonel who served for over 20 years as an aviator and an officer in the Acquisition Corps. In 2020, he founded Schmitt Consulting Group LLC, which focuses on impactful projects in biotechnology, advanced manufacturing, technology transfer, and workforce modernization. Additionally, John was the founding executive director of the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Integration Center, co-founded and serves as the CEO of iXpressGenes, and holds board member positions for several local small businesses and non-profit organizations. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from UC-Davis and a Master of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology from Vanderbilt University.
Founder - The Davis Focus Project
Brandon D. Davis is a decorated Army veteran, Black Hawk instructor pilot, and the founder of The Davis Focus Project, a nonprofit dedicated to advancing human performance and recovery. As a member of the elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment and Distinguished Honor Graduate of his flight school class, Brandon’s military career exemplifies resilience and excellence. After battling—and overcoming—a deep three-year depression, he channeled his recovery into a mission to help others do the same. Drawing on evidence-based practices in psychology and performance science, Brandon created The Davis Focus Project to support individuals on their journey toward healing and maximizing potential.

Dr. David Barnhart is a board-certified counselor with over four decades of experience in trauma-informed care, anxiety disorders, and clinical assessment. As founder of Behavioral Sciences of Alabama, he developed an intensive outpatient program for OCD recognized by the International OCD Foundation. His career bridges mental health, ministry, and education, bringing a deep understanding of how trauma intersects with personal identity, faith, and long-term wellness.
