FLIP THE SCRIPT
SHIFT - Do What Moves You is the new documentary film from Tell My Story, that sparks inspiration and possibilities. Through real stories of young people finding joy and resilience in passions like sports, music, art, and service, SHIFT flips the script—from challenges to strengths.
This event includes time to enjoy food, drink and fellowship while connecting with people from Rotary Clubs across District 5130. Our film screening and follow up discussion is designed to foster meaningful conversation, explore questions about youth mental wellbeing today, and how as a community we can support our young people more skillfully and mindfully.
(This film is only available in partnership with Tell My Story.)
ABOUT THIS FREE FILM EVENT
Part 1: SHIFT – Do What Moves You
A 35-minute documentary from Tell My Story that follows 13 teens and young adults who have faced and navigated their challenges by doing what inspires them; writing, singing, cooking, and other creative outlets. SHIFT isn’t about the problem—it’s about possibility, connection, and the inspiration that comes when youth are empowered to speak, create, and heal.
Part 2: Guided Conversation
A 45-minute discussion will be co-facilitated by Kristine Redko, 5130's District Governor & Dana Christian Lee, Tell My Story Executive Director. This conversation invites attendees to ask questions, share reflections, and explore ways to better support youth while also leaning into what moves them in their own lives.
