Intermediate Rope Workshop for Tying Pairs
Join us for an immersive 3 hour workshop focused entirely on the iconic Takate Kote โ also known as the Box Tie, Gote, or TK. This intermediate-level intensive is designed for rope-versed tying pairs ready to deepen their technical understanding and refine their connection through one of the most recognizable ties in shibari.
Whether you're aiming for beautiful floor play, expressive connection, or stable structural harnesses, this workshop explores the art, anatomy, and evolving ethics of the TK in both traditional and modern forms.
๐ถ What You'll Learn
Youโll receive in-depth, hands-on instruction in five distinct TK variations, including:
- Classic 2-Rope TK โ the foundation of many functional ties
- Front-Arm TK โ ideal for limited mobility and emotional access
- Hands-Free Mayfly TK โ an arm-free structure perfect for sensation play
- Infinity TK โ stylish, balanced, and modern
- 3rd Rope Front-Loading TK โ hybrid structure with dynamic load options
Each variation will be covered with purpose, application, tension control, aesthetics, and practical discussion on when (and why) to use them.
๐ถ What We'll Explore
- Anatomy & nerve safety: identifying risk zones and reading your partnerโs body
- TK variations for different bodies, experiences, and intentions
- Managing uplines and body balance: where and how to safely anchor
- Emotional and energetic impact of TKs in connection and surrender
- Practical pros and cons of each tie โ when aesthetics matter and when they donโt
- Insights from trusted resources:
This class is not focused on suspension or performance tying โ rather, on building a solid, versatile TK vocabulary for intentional, embodied rope work.
