About this Event
A half day event comprising of:
- A tour to a heritage area of Singapore - Bugis and Waterloo Street - led by a team of professional tour guides that has won various accolades
- A video editing workshop conducted by ex-Mediacorp multi-award winning video production team
- A visit by a NGS non-profit/charity beneficiary - SG Assist - to our Guild House
and even includes a lunch with Ningbonese dishes!
We start the programme with registration at our Guild House and kick off the event with a video editing workshop. The workshop instructor will teach and guide participants in using user-friendly video-editing mobile apps to create a short video of their tour and visit experience.
After the workshop, we will move on to a tour. The route includes a visit to the Waterloo Street and the Bugis neighbourhood where participants will discover the journey our immigrant forefathers took, and how their values continue to grow and be present in the area.
Participants will learn about the history and heritage of Waterloo Street and how early immigrants arrived and adapted to Singapore in the 1900s.
After the tour, we return to Guild House for lunch!
Take a look at our photos, and also the various items collected from when the Guild House started. Taste some traditional Ningbonese cuisine. Ask questions about our background and history to our Ningpo Guild representative who will be at the event!
Our partner - SG Assist, a non-profit working with caregivers - will also be at the Guild House where we can learn from them about the work they do, and how participants can contribute time or effort if they want to.
The completion of lunch marks the end of our programme for the day!
