Join us on Saturday, 13th September, at the Clickimin Bowls Hall from 10am – 4pm for a day dedicated to climate awareness and action. This year’s event will highlight young people’s views on climate change, featuring a film launch, book unveiling, and an inspiring art installation showcasing poems, illustrations, and stories from Shetland’s school bairns. The festival builds on the Shetland School Climate Roadshows, where students are sharing their thoughts on climate change and taking part in workshops with the Council’s Climate Change Strategy Team. Pupils are also invited to enter a competition to have their work featured in the book ‘Climate Change From a Young Person’s Perspective’.
The programme will include exhibitors, workshops, and expert advice from organisations like Home Energy Scotland, SHEAP, and the Highlands and Islands Climate Hub, providing practical tips on greener living, from heating and recycling to making sustainable choices.
With over 350 attendees last year, we’re looking forward to another fantastic event – open to all and family-friendly! Keep an eye on our website for the full programme in the coming months.
