Sherry, Baby!

Sherry is an incredibly misunderstood wine, and the bad rap it gets from the cooking sherry in granny's cupboard is much undeserved. In contrast, whiskies matured in sherry casks are in high demand, but the undue strain on the sherry industry is causing whisky makers to either compromise, increase prices out of reach of the general market, or stop matruing in sherry casks altogether.

In this Sherry Primer, we will take a side-by-side look at good sherry, and the whiskies aged in their used casks, to better understand not just sherry-aged whiskies, but sherry itself.
