Join us on Tuesday 20 August at the stunning Menzies Bar at Shell House, 37 Margaret Street, Sydney, for a tasting of the spectacular cool climate wines of the Mornington Peninsula.
Winemakers will be showcasing the region’s Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris among the group of 20 wineries, who have new stories to tell, new wines to share and people to meet.
The lineup includes: Crittenden Wines, Ghost Gum, Handpicked Wines, Kooyong Estate, Montalto, Moorooduc Estate, Nazaaray, Ocean 8, Paringa Estate, Polperro & Even Keel, Port Phillip Estate, Pt Leo Estate, Phaedrus, Quealy Winemakers, Red Hill Estate, Tar & Roses, Ten Minutes by Tractor, Stonier and Yabby Lake.
The Mornington Peninsula is a region of spectacular natural beauty located 80km south of Melbourne. It has a long history of fruit growing in a cool, maritime climate with prevailing cool southerly winds coming off Bass Strait which moderate temperatures to provide mild growing conditions. This enables us to grow and ripen quality Pinot Noir, a grape that flourishes in a select few regions around the world. In rich volcanic soils of the Peninsula coupled with the maritime climate deliver wines which embody purity and perfume intensity of fruit flavour and lively acidity that is characteristic of Mornington Peninsula wines.
The Vignerons of the Mornington Peninsula are a collective of boutique producers that have a passion for growing exceptional fruit, making often very limited quantities of world-class wines, and will be pouring over 100 wines for one day only.
