In this workshop we'll be creating Shell Art! Create a piece inspired by one of our samples or design your own custom piece. Each attendee will create on a 16"x9" solid wood board which can be oriented vertically or horizontally. MIY Instructors will get you started with an introduction to all the materials and the basic techniques, and share some design options to give you some inspiration. You'll spend time selecting your shells, planning your layout, and prepping your board with paint if desired. From there, we'll guide you step-by-step to secure everything in place and share some fun ideas for finishing touches on your frame. The laid-back, relaxing pace of this workshop makes it perfect for a night out with friends! Food, drink, and conversation won't break your focus on this one, it will keep your creativity flowing ;)
All materials are provided, but you are absolutely welcome to bring your own collection. We recommend shells that are light in weight and have at least one flat-ish spot to adhere to your board.s. A variety of shapes and sizes ranging from about .25" to 1.5" will come in handy.
