Welcome to the Shelby Fritz Memorial Ovarian Cancer Walk!

In memory of Shelby Fritz, we are conducting a fundraising event for the American Cancer Society, and we need your support!
Shelby Fritz was a courageous fighter, both in her personal life and in her role as a Human Resources professional. Shelby devoted 24 years of her professional career to public service in the field of Human Resources - serving at the University of Washington, Clover Park Technical College, the City of Tacoma and the broader Human Resources community. She was a passionate leader who believed in bringing kindness at every opportunity. Her life was cut too short following a valiant battle with cancer – a fight marked by her grace, courage, strength, humor, resilience, determination, and unwavering concern for others.

This campaign is being organized by her friends and colleagues in conjunction with a Walkathon event at Clover Park Technical College on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

Join us in honoring Shelby's spirit of generosity and kindness and help us raise money to help combat the ovarian cancer that took her from us far too soon.

This year alone, more than 600,000 Americans will die of cancer. That’s more than 1,600 people per day in the United States. That's why we're taking action with American Cancer Society, joining their 1.5 million supporters. The money we raise through this fundraiser will help fund and provide the critical programs and services that people count on every day.
