Please join us for a casual-paced group gravel ride starting and ending at Eurosports in Sisters, OR, followed by after-ride libations and socialization!When: Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 9:00 am
Where: We will meet at Eurosports in Sisters, OR.
Cost: Free! (Suggested donation of $10 to SheJumps)
Details: The riding route is TBD based on conditions and information learned on scouting missions as we get closer to the date, but expect to ride around 30- 35 miles, taking between 3 to 4 hours at the intended casual pace. Ride will contain a mix of pavement, gravel, and single track. Current route contenders based on Dirty Freehub rides are Black Butte Loop, Sisters Plainview Loop, Coffee Run, or a variation of Gravel Cracker. Participants will be updated as the route is finalized.
This is a meet-up style event, led by SheJumps volunteer, Tanya Gephart. This is not a guide service or instructional event. Pro-athlete status is not required nor expected, but you should have general fitness, and know your abilities and limitations.
Eurosports is donating one drink token per participant. There are food carts located in their courtyard for after-ride nourishment.
Timeline of Events:
9:00 am- Meet at Eurosports in Sisters, OR 223 E Hood Ave, Sisters, OR 97759
9:15 am- Begin riding
9:15 am-~12:15/1:00pm
~1:00 pm-2:00pm- Socialization, beverages and food at Eurosports
What to Bring: Helmets are required. Please come prepared with snacks, water, and sunscreen. Make sure your bike is in good working order.
Who can come?: We welcome all women and girls (transgender and cisgender) as well as non-binary people to participate in this event. All biking experience levels are welcome, however participants should be ready for several hours of riding diverse terrain. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian throughout the entire event. Please leave your pets at home for this event.
Parking and getting to the event: There is free parking around Eurosports in downtown Sisters. Parking can be competitive on weekends, so we encourage you to invite a friend and carpool if you can!
Facility information: There may be pit toilets at the trailhead of this ride, but we recommend that participants come prepared for no bathroom access for the duration of the event.
Accessibility information: this will not be an ADA trail.
