Shehzaade... From Kamran to Dara: The Tales of Mughal Princes

Shehzaade... From Kamran to Dara: The Tales of Mughal Princes.

"Ya Takht Ya Taboos..."

A saying that has often defined the quandary of Mughal princes. Their lives spent in striving for the ever elusive power of the throne, else fate would give them the 'Taboot' (Coffin). Some like Dara Shikoh got everlasting fame as the wise benevolent and great emperor that India never had.

While others such as Babur's beloved son Kamran would be remembered in history as Humayun's backstabbing brother.

Every 'tajposhi' (coronation) was a result of a bloody battle that turned fathers against sons... brother against brother and everyone's loyalty was questioned. But from this turmoil emerged friendships forged in the fire of war... such as that of Jahangir and Bir Singh Deo. As every prince strived for support from diverse quarters, newer groups got incorporated into the empire and the succession struggles served to make the empire stronger!

DBF invites you for an all new heritage walk and baithak in the Mughal Necropolis, the Humayun's Tomb. As we stroll through the tomb's stunning architecture and serene gardens, discover the intrigues, passions, and tragedies that defined the lives of these Mughal princes. Get a glimpse into their lavish lifestyles, their artistic patronage, and their political intrigues!

Lets become historians a day as we read between the lines to find the unsaid as we resolve mysteries, of the unmarked graves…of Princes who could never be Kings!
