The "Sheets of Shirley" was a cult better known as "The Christ Family." They came to live on a property in Shirley, Indiana in the early 1980s. They lived communally on the property with sometimes up to 40 or 50 people. They wore no shoes, and their clothes were bed sheets. They believed their leader, Jesus Christ Lightning Amen, was Christ returned to earth in physical form.Learn more about this unusual group, and how they came to live in the small town of Shirley, Indiana. Historian, Brigette Cook Jones, will provide information about the group and their time in Shirley along with a recent national murder investigation that involved two of their members.
