Ride Sheppey Community Cycling Club – Medium/Hard Social RideUp for a bit more of a challenge? Join Ride Sheppey Community Cycling Club for a friendly but slightly longer community ride led by our trained Group Leaders!�Rides start at 10:00 AM and are open to cyclists of all skill levels who are comfortable riding a bit further.
Route:�A mainly off-road, scenic route covering more than 8 miles. Expect some longer stretches or gentle inclines — perfect for building confidence while keeping it social and inclusive.
Equipment Borrowing:�🚴♂️ Free bikes and helmets are available to borrow.�Please email [email protected] to reserve in advance as supplies are limited.
Children:�Children 12+ welcome if accompanied by a parent (1 adult per 1–2 children). Participants under 16 must be supervised.
Attendance:�Pre-booking required. You can contact a Group Leader, email [email protected], book via Eventbrite, or confirm on WhatsApp.�Please arrive 15 minutes early for bike checks.
Ride Structure:
* Briefing & Bike Check: Route and safety overview.
* During the Ride: Group Leader front – Assistant rear – ensuring no one left behind.
* Café Stop: Bring payment or refreshments.
* Duration: Approx. 2 hours (45–50 mins cycling).
Leadership & Training:�Led by fully qualified Cycling UK Leaders and Assistants.
Inclusive Equipment Policy:�E-bikes, trikes, and adapted cycles welcome (subject to route suitability).
What to Bring:�Bike and helmet (own or borrowed) • Water • Phone • Coat • Comfortable clothing • Lightweight jacket for coastal sections.
