At Ease USA is honored to co-host this event alongside the 50 Mile March Foundation and Valley Hope because SHEEPDOG powerfully reflects the very heart of our shared mission. SHEEPDOG is a critically acclaimed film that sheds light on the lasting effects of war and the very real challenges many veterans face after service, particularly mental health struggles, substance use disorder, and homelessness. While the story centers on the veteran experience, its message of resilience, connection, and hope resonates with all of us.
These are issues we encounter every day in our work, and this film creates a meaningful opportunity to bring those conversations into the open, reduce stigma, and connect people to hope and healing. This film is not just a story on screen—it is a mirror of lived experience and a call to action rooted in compassion, connection, and community.
The evening will include a resource fair before and after the screening to offer attendees direct access to local organizations providing support and treatment. Following the film, attendees are invited to stay for a panel discussion focused on the real-world challenges highlighted in SHEEPDOG.
Admission is free for veterans and active-duty military.
This film’s 13-year journey to the screen reminds us of something we all know well: meaningful change doesn’t happen overnight. The road can be long—but as we’ve each experienced in our own work, the long roads are often the best roads to travel.
