This will be a fun day in a beautiful large room with lots of natural light. All types of wheels, spindles and e-spinners are welcome. Join us for social spinning time! Have you never spun before? We are happy to introduce you to spinning wool on a drop spindle. For the spectator, expect to see spinning wheels dating from the 1800's to the present.Local artist Natasha Lehrer-Lewis of Esther's Place is dying Rambouillet fiber in a custom Fall colorway for Sheep Shed Spin-In! Stay tuned for information on how to pre-order the custom colorway. A link will be posted soon, or orders can be placed directly through Esther's Place.
Participants can bring a sack lunch, pre-order a box lunch from Flyleaf Bakery Cafe located inside the Batavia Library or step out to an establishment in the local community.
Activities and amenities at the event will include a For Sale/Wanted Board for fiber arts equipment and related supplies (note that the Library will not allow sales to be made inside the venue). Business cards and announcements can also be posted.
Attendees are encouraged to bring items they have made that illustrate how hand-spun can be used in knitting, crochet, weaving, etc. Please label items with your name, fibers used, methods used in prepping and spinning the fiber and any patterns used to create the final project. We look forward to seeing you!
