This SHEEP SHED SPIN-IN is a free event. Kane County Forest Preserve is generously allowing us to use their Creek Bend Nature Center on the LeRoy Oakes property in St. Charles, IL! The venue, a 1930's estate home, has multiple rooms with lots of windows overlooking wide expanses of prairie and woodlands.In addition to the Spin-In, at 10:30 am, there will be a one hour educational fiber arts presentation: Linen, the Most Useful Fiber, presented by historical interpreters Tom and Joanne Blodgett. They will demonstrate how fibers are extracted from flax plants and subsequently spun into linen. Bring your spinning wheel and sack lunch to Creek Bend Nature Center for the Spin-In.
