Location History:
Traveling Wisconsin’s County Road VN offers a view of lush fields and rugged farmland. It’s easy for your mind to drift toward simple ways of life, long before technology became a major player in the American Economy.
As you turn onto the serenely named Garden Parkway, those thoughts are replaced by something different, something darker. The massive and ominous building stands quietly against a backdrop of the midwestern sky.
You have arrived at the place where secrets are kept, history is hidden, and paranormal activity can be as dark as the deeds of the past – The incredibly terrifying Sheboygan County Asylum!
In 1940, The Sheboygan County Comprehensive Health Care Center was built in Sheboygan Falls, WI as a nursing home for the elderly, and a housing facility for the elderly, those with developmental disabilities, and the mentally ill.
In 1969, The Sheboygan County Comprehensive Health Care Center became an acute care center for those with mental illness, in addition to offering drug and alcohol treatment programs. The drug and alcohol programs were discontinued in 1975.
In 1978, the chronically ill and developmentally disabled were housed within this location. By 1988, The Sheboygan County Comprehensive Health Care Center became a concern for the State of Wisconsin, who transferred patients to other facilities until the facility closed in 2002.
The Paranormal:
In 62 years of operation, the Sheboygan County Asylum saw the elderly, mentally ill, developmentally disabled, drug addicts, alcoholics, and prisoners of war.
Historians who have struggled to uncover the truth of this location have revealed violent attacks, suicides, and murders.
The morgue is a small room where bodies of the dead were stacked. As you make your way through the building, you may very well encounter some of the dark energy that may have been released when the door was finally opened after 20 years of abandonment.
The basement tunnel is home to a large aggressive entity who is known for physical attacks. And pay close attention the floor and see if you can solve the mystery of the crawler that many have seen or felt.
