About this Event

She Strong - a Day of Empowering Women’s Autonomy in Their Wellness Journey

Goal: Explore topics related to women’s health and wellness featuring a panel of topic experts and professionals from our Driftless CrossFit community. The breadth and depth of knowledge in our community members reveals the diverse facets of health and wellness needing attention to achieve a comprehensive approach to the pursuit of optimal wellness as individuals and as a community. This learning experience will introduce several topics through multimodal approaches inviting participants to learn, inquire and enjoy their role in their own health and wellness.

Disclaimer: No information shared at this event should immediately replace or alter health or medical plans in place for individuals. Information shared will be broad, general and foundational with respect for the need to include individual factors (health history, risk factors, life circumstances) that impact a health or wellness outcome when devising a plan to one’s health. We strongly promote shared decision-making with a trusted provider(clinician) along the health and wellness journey, and remind participants information shared at this event is a starting point that does not consider unique details particular to each individual that can influence approach, method and/or outcome.

Why women specific? Pathways to optimal health and wellness can address ways to support human physiology regardless of sex or gender identity. However, there are unique facets to female physiology that are emerging in health and wellness fields that reveal nuances that better support an efficacious approach to nutrition, movement, screening, prevention and restoration for individuals with a particular hormonal profile (always including a caveat for nuanced and particular human physiology and function). The inspiration to address a women specific population in this event is to raise the awareness of women specific physiology, impact on nutrition, movement, chronic conditions and provide support for independent learning, autonomy in personal healthcare and equalizing access to information and opportunity.
