⭐ The Venue Presents: She Said with Anne Harris, a quarterly music series featuring performances and conversation with extraordinary women musicians. The first of the series will be on Saturday, October 12 featuring Susan Voelz.

Join host and series curator Anne Harris and journey into the creative processes and lives of some of the most intriguing women making music you’ll encounter. Their stories and their songs will inspire and expand you in powerful ways. Our stories are medicine.

SUSAN VOELZ

⭐ "Sounding like Nico and John Cale fused into one (somewhat sweeter) being" (Musician Magazine), Susan Voelz (pronounced Velz) has pioneered the violin in rock as an original member of Poi dog Pondering, punk poet Alejandro Escovedo, British rock legend Ronnie Lane and John Mellencamp.
Her violin and arrangements can be heard on many recordings -from Belle & Sebastian and Mono to documentaries and TV.
As a solo artist, she creates “powerfully atmospheric music” (Trouser Press) playing a 5 string and baritone violin through guitar effects pedals and sampler.

ANNE HARRIS

⭐ Anne Harris is a roots and blues fiddle player and singer-songwriter based in Chicago. Harris tells stories through her fiddle and through her voice.
