She Moved Through the Fair – Pamphlet Launch

She laid her hand on me and this she did say...

Join us at The Metro to launch our new pamphlet, She Moved Through the Fair, made in response to the song 'She Moved / Moves Through the Fair', collected in Donegal by Padraic Colum and first published in 1909.

Celebrating the second publication from The Fair Organ, this in-person event will feature ghosts, hands, organs, fairlings, zoetropes and automatons. Anything that moves, and touches.

With readings, music and performances from:
Sally Alexander
Edwina Attlee
Grace Connolly Linden
Rey Conquer
Aisha Farr
Hugh Foley
Kevin Meayers (of Kevin Meayers Organs)
Daisy Nutting
Angela Shackel
George Townsend
Bridget Walker (of Bridget & Kitty)

Doors: 6pm

Performances: 7:00-8:30pm

Tickets for performances:

After the performances, admission is free. We will be celebrating and selling pamphlets and posters for the rest of the evening, with drinks available from the Metro bar – please join us!

The Fair Organ is an independent creative research collective, responding to 'folk' culture in solo and collaborative works across text, performance and visual art. The emphasis is on process, and on mutual exchange between scholarly and creative ways of working, including oral history, social history, translation, ceramics, typography, printmaking, poetry and fiction.
