❤️nipaluna Hobart SHE MATTERS - STOP KILLING WOMEN RALLY - 11am-12pm SATURDAY, MARCH 15❤️
Together with Rachel I will be coordinating the nipaluna Hobart rally for the SHE MATTERS - STOP KILLING WOMEN day of action. This is one of many rallies being held across the country on Saturday, March 15.
The rallies will bring attention to Australia's femicide epidemic, while calling for Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Opposition Leader Peter Dutton and Premier Jeremy Rockcliff to roll out meaningful budgetary measures, policy, legal changes and action to end violence against women in our country.
Each rally will commemorate the 113 women killed since January 1, 2024.
As I write, 12 women have been killed this year and 101 women were lost last year.
❤️WHEN: 11am-12pm, MARCH 15, 2025
❤️WHERE: Franklin Square nipaluna Hobart
❤️BRING: Protest placards and signs and perhaps flowers as we read out the names of the 113 women killed in 14 months.
This national protest will put pressure on every political party and candidate as we head into this year’s election.
We need to end domestic violence, stranger violence, associate violence, femicide, murder, sexual assault, sexual harassment and misogyny.
The rallies are organised and funded by Australian Femicide Watch and The RED HEART Campaign. They are community driven and coordinated and staffed by an incredible group of women who are giving their time freely.
