Reston Community Players (RCP), the award-winning all-volunteer theatre company known for sparking joy and creativity across Fairfax County and the greater DMV, proudly announces its winter production: Qui Nguyen’s She Kills Monsters, running January 16, through February 1, 2026, at the Reston Community Center. Tickets are on sale now at www.tinyurl.com/rcpmonsters .A high-octane fusion of comedy, grief, and geek culture, She Kills Monsters follows high-school teacher Agnes Evans as she dives into the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy world left behind by her late sister, Tilly. What begins as a search for understanding becomes a heartfelt, hilarious journey filled with sword-fights, monsters, 90s pop culture, and the unmistakable thrill and imagination of tabletop adventure games. This play has become one of the most-produced works in American theatre thanks to its emotional resonance, inclusive storytelling, and sheer theatrical fun.
Directed by Joshua Paul McCreary, with fight choreography by members of professional stage combat artists The Noble Blades, and featuring a dynamic cast of local talent, RCP’s production embraces the play’s blend of stage combat, puppetry, and imagination.
