For their October show at the hallowed Galactic Panther in Old Town Alexandria, ShawnMikael[s] is inviting two of the areas' best improv troupes and stand-up comedians, Sistine Robot and Jared Stern. Sistine Robot is a hilariously long standing comedy troupe that has been performing in the DC area over the past decade. Jared Stern was voted the 2023 & 2024 (and 2013) Best Comedian in D.C. by the readers of the Washington City Paper. He was a featured performer at the 2017 What A Joke Fest, the 2018 LaughFest, the 2019 Oak City Comedy Festival, and the 2023 & 2024 North Carolina Comedy Festival. His new album, "Live on Broadway", is available on all digital platforms. ShawnMikael[s] — a two-man long-form improvisational show combining the talents of two of the DC improv scene’s veteran improvisers: Mikael Johnson, a mainstay at Washington Improv Theater’s long-form troupe Jackie, and Shawn Westfall, for 12 years the exclusive teacher of improv at the DC Improv, founding cast-member of iMusical, The Improvised Musical; and most recently the co-founder and Artistic Director of The Unified Scene Theater in Washington, DC. They've played on comedy festival stages across the country, including Philadelphia, Kansas City, Charleston, Baltimore, Richmond, and here in DC, including The Capital Fringe Fest in 2012, where they were named “Best Of The Fringe.” ShawnMikael[s]: Two improvisers. One suggestion. Multiple characters & worlds. Infinite possibilities. Endless laughter.
