Shawna Hervé is a native of Sonoma County and an alumnus of the Sonoma State University music department. She has been singing in bands since the age of fifteen exploring folk, rock, funk, blues, jazz, R&B, reggae and country. Shawna started her business as a private singing instructor in 2004 at Stanroy Music Center in Santa Rosa and currently sustains a work load of approximately 60 students. Outside of teaching, Shawna composes original music, playing keys and mandolin with her husband Cory, and fellow early music bassist Dan Turkos in their trio, Off the Perch. She is often hired out to do recording work for other artists as well, singing backup or lead on their original compositions. Shawna has a teenage son who plays piano and drums and is enrolled at Santa Rosa High School. She loves to travel, connect with friends, and spend time with her mini-Aussie doggie daughter, Nala.
