MARK YOUR CALENDAR!FREE BACKPACK & SCHOOL SUPPLIES for all families!
Area churches and organizations including Springfield Missionary Baptist Church, Hemingway Temple AME Church, First Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church, New Bethel Baptist Church, Third Baptist Church and BranCore Technologies have come together to show our support for children and families in our surrounding neighborhoods by providing free backpacks and school supplies. Even if you are not a member of the churches mentioned, if you live in Shaw, you can attend and even volunteer.
In order to reduce the number of people gathering at one time, participants are asked to come based on the schedule by last names. Call the church office at 202-234-0648 for your scheduled time.
Donations of backpacks, school supplies or money is appreciated. Volunteers are needed to set up and serve the day of event. Financial donations can be sent to the SBC Givelify app account.
Please note, participation in this event and the activities that lead up to it, includes a release to use all pictures and videos in future community and ministry endeavors.
MASKS AND SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE REQUIRED.
