For our fourth fall conference at Grace Church in Scranton, Pennsylvania, we will be exploring the development of Enlightenment philosophy, particularly in regard to the use of power and its conception of the human person. We will also be discussing the effects of technology in the modern world and critiquing the notion of "progress." Finally, we seek to offer a positive vision for the church moving forward by promoting a Christian view of sustainability and environmental stewardship.Our plenary speakers this year include Dr. Thomas Price from The Theology Pugcast; CJay Engel from Chronicles Magazine and the Chronicles Magazine Podcast; Dr. Josh Arp, adjunct professor of theology at the University of Scranton and owner D&D Organic Lawns; Andy Giessman, adjunct professor of philosophy at the University of Scranton and founder of Addison's Walk Institute for Christian Studies; and Rev. Dcn. Jared Lovell, classical educator at Memoria Academy and deacon at Grace Anglican Church.
We will be serving a "Elrond's Feast" over the lunch hour on Saturday, which is included in the cost of admission. It is a great time of food and fellowship. We will also be providing childcare during the conference plenary sessions and would encourage families to attend.
If you register before September 1st, the ticket price for individuals is $20 and for families it is $50. Prices will go up after that date.
