Salil Chowdhury remains one of the most important icons of the golden era of Indian film and non-film music. His legacy spans multiple languages and he reached remarkable heights as a composer, poet, lyricist, and storyteller. In tribute to this legend on his birth centenary, Barisha Behala Sangitik has organized a two-day special programme, titled, `Shatoborshe Salil`. The event will celebrate his iconic songs, poems, and memorable anecdotes. On the first day of the event, renowned singers like Sounak Chattopadhyay, Bibhabendu Bhattacharya, Trisha Parui, Brishtilekha Nandini, Sispiya Banerjee, Sagnik Sen, Aritra Dasgupta, Indranil Dutta, and Samadipta Mukherjee will perform the immortal melodies of this master composer. The brilliant Bratati Bandyopadhyay will bring his poems to life through recitation, while Mounita Chattopadhyay will narrate the event and Sandipan Ganguly will oversee the musical arrangements.
