About this Event
The Volusia County Explore Volusia program invites you to join Education Specialist Tommy Nordmann on a paddling trip through the mangroves of Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve. We’ll discuss bull sharks, bonnethead sharks, and fisheries management while we paddle through this amazingly diverse estuary.
**Important note: Please arrive 30 minutes prior to organize gear and complete a waiver. Waivers must be completed in full to participate in the program.
ACTIVITY: A two-hour easy to moderate paddling trip. Difficulty will depend on tides, wind, and currents.
RESERVATIONS: Required. Unless you have a confirmation email, your are not registered.
TICKETS: No printed ticket is necessary.
AGES: Ages 10 and up are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
ATTIRE: Wear clothing and shoes that can get wet.
WHAT TO BRING: Watercraft (kayak, canoe, or SUP), paddle, personal flotation device (must be worn while paddling), whistle, water to drink, sunscreen, and bug spray
