Date: Saturday April 20, 2024, Registration from 8.30am

Location: Royal Armouries, Armouries Drive, Leeds, LS10 1LT

Immerse yourself in a day filled with engaging talks, interactive workshops, and insightful discussions. Uncover hidden gems from the past as we explore the art of storytelling and its role in preserving family legacies.

Learn from experienced genealogists, historians, authors and storytellers as they share their expertise, providing valuable tips and techniques to help you uncover and develop your own or your client's family history. From oral traditions to written narratives, we will explore various mediums to bring the past to life.

Discover the power of storytelling as a means to connect with and develop a unique family history. Whether you're a seasoned professional or amateur genealogist or just starting your journey, this event is designed to inspire and empower you to write engaging but well researched reports and narratives.

We have a great line up of speakers including Professor Alison Light, author of the book 'Common People' and Honorary Professor at Edinburgh University, University College London and a non-stipendiary Senior Research Fellow of Pembroke College, Oxford and Michael Tobias OBE, Co-founder of Jewish Records Indexing – Poland, Honorary Research Fellow – Genealogical Studies at the University of Strathclyde and current President of the Jewish Genealogical Society of Great Britain

There will also be workshops to help develop your publishing skills as well as a number of short papers presented by delegates to the conference linked to the conference theme. We will shortly announce our call for papers which will facilitate a large range of presentations under the broad theme of the conference. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in presenting a paper at the conference.

Don't miss this opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, exchange stories, and embark on a journey of discovery. Reserve your spot today and unlock the mysteries of your family history through the art of storytelling.
