About this Event
In Peking Opera, the painted faces and elaborate headpieces are full of bold colours, and each colour carries its own meaning. Red stands for loyalty and courage, black for honesty and strength, and white for cunning. In this workshop you can take these ideas and turn them into a small brooch that is completely your own.
No experience is needed. We provide the clay and the tools, show you a few simple techniques, and then you are free to design whatever you like, whether that is a classic opera mask, a headdress motif, or your own pattern. Once your brooch has dried, you can take it home and wear it.
This workshop is part of the ‘Shared Lines, Shared Meanings’ series
