About this Event
After successful IRL events in Toronto and Vancouver, Shared Bylines is hitting Ottawa and you're invited!
WHERE: 3 Brasseurs, Local C215, 240 Sparks St., Ottawa, ON K1P 6C9
WHEN: Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
COST: SB events (and food) are FREE courtesy of Unifor, but we'll gather any PWYC donations toward the Assembly of Seven Generations and Families of Sisters in Spirit.
As the House resumes for the fall, join us for an essential talk – and real talk – about the intersection of Indigenous and political reporting on the Hill. The perspectives of Indigenous leaders and communities will be at the forefront of discourse as Canada embarks on crucial nation-building projects. What do journalists get right about Indigenous coverage on the politics beat? What could we do better?
We're so excited to welcome an all-star panel! Moderator Joy SpearChief-Morris (CBC Indigenous) is joined by Alessia Passafiume (Canadian Press), Duncan McCue (Carleton University) and Karyn Pugliese (APTN).
Afterward, stick around and hang out with us. There will be FREE bar appetizers courtesy of Unifor.
Looking forward to welcoming Ottawa journalists, students, union members and anyone else interested in journalism and politics! – Team Shared Bylines
