About this Event
Share Your Story Workshop
Date: Tuesday, April 30
Time: 7-9 p.m.
Location: Vienna Community Center
As part of Liberty Amendments Month, we are asking for and sharing stories of becoming and being American. These stories are from individuals and families who were native to this country or who journeyed here, whether willingly or not, and how they came to enjoy the rights as Americans guaranteed by the Liberty Amendments.
The Town of Vienna and Historic Vienna, Inc. are hosting two storytelling workshops to help individuals write their family stories to submit to the project. Leave the workshop with a drafted short story (100-500 words) or an outline for a longer story with help from a session lead by Hanan Daqqa.
Hanan Daqqa is an independent multmedia journalist and an adjunct faculty member at George Washington University, teaching the course, "Not Another Home Movie".
Workshop is limited to 20 participants. Attend one or both workshops depending on your interest and availability. Workshops are free for attendees, advance registration is encouraged but not required. Snacks and drinks will be provided by the Vienna Business Association.
Do you have a story to share now ? Submit your story anytime Learn more about the Our American Liberty Stories project .
Our first story workshop will be held on Thursday, April 25 at 2 p.m. at the Vienna Community Center. You may attend one or both workshops if desired. Register for the April 25 workshop here.
