Target Audience: This faculty development activity targets RN's, APRN’s, DNP’s, nursing faculty and graduate nursing students as well as physicians, social workers and related professionals.

Dr. Charon Pierson, PhD, GNP, FAANP, FAAN, Former Editor-in-Chief, Journal of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners Secretary and trustee, Governing Council for the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) “Impact of Research and Publication Ethics on Clinical Practice Decisions”

Dr. Sandra Daack-Hirsch, PhD, RN, University of Iowa College of Nursing, Iowa City, IA, Contributions in genetic and environmental risk factors of birth “Patient-centered Clinical Genetics Research”

Dr. Christy Blanco, DNP, WHNP-BC, FAANP, Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, Texas Tech Health Sciences Center President, Texas Nurse Practitioners “Policy and the Transition to Patient-centered Outcomes Research”

Learning outcomes: The objectives of the conference are to extend the concept of patient-centeredness from health care delivery to health care research, apply relevant research to patient and clinician health decisions in the care continuum, and emphasize the impact of best practices in research on patient outcomes.

Nurses: BorderRAC is approved with distinction as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by New Mexico Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credential Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

BorderRAC awards 3.0 contact hours for this education activity.

This CNE activity is jointly provided by BorderRAC in conjunction with Sigma Theta Tau. Conference partners include UTEP SON, School of Nursing New Mexico State University, Gayle Greve Hunt SON and Sigma Theta Tau Chapters: Delta Kappa, Pi Omega, Alpha Beta Theta.

Successful Completion Requirements: In order to receive credit and certificate of successful completion for the program, participants must: •Join on time and attend the entire session •Complete the online evaluation.
